Fourth free geographic information system days

From 10 to 12 March 2010, the fourth consecutive edition of the free GIS (Geographic information system) days will be organised by the University of Girona, Spain. The programme of the first day will consist of different workshops, while the second and third day will be dedicated to conferences, debates and presentations.

The main objective of the plenary sesions is to offer participants the chance to learn about new ideas, concepts and projects related to geomatics? Five keynote speakers have already confirmed their participation to the event: Arnulf Christl, President of OSGeo Foundation; Genís Roca, partner and director of RocaSalvatella; Jo Walsh, from the Open Knowledge Foundation; Jordi L. Ramot, founder of IOGEO and developer of Wikiloc; and Agustín Lobo, Researcher at the Institut de Ciències de la Terra "Jaume Almera" (CSIC).

The event will take place in two different venues. The workshops of the first day will be held in the Faculty of Litterature of the University of Girona, while the plenary sessions will take place at the Auditori-Palau de Congressos de Girona.
