For the very first time this year, the Plone Symposium will be held in Europe. The selected location is the city of Sorrento, Italy. The event will take place from 11th to 17th May 2009. On 15th of May, an event will be especially dedicated to the Italian PloneGov group. This occasion will be used by the group to announce the formal constitution of the Italian subcommunity ("PloneGov Italia").
The aim of PloneGov Italia is to be like the international PloneGov initiative. Its activities will be technology-centric and not project-centric. This means that PloneGov Italia will be a place where design capacity and single modules will mostly be reused among the participants. The birth of PloneGov Italia officially marks a shift from a PloneGov promotion managed by SMEs providing Plone solutions, to a promotion managed directly by PloneGov members. This new approach is expected to be much more effective for increasing the adoption of Plone in the Italian public sector.
Clémentine Valayer, from the OSOR.eu team, will present the OSOR platform and the services it provides.
