One of the key tasks of ARE3NA is to identify ‘reusable components’ that aid INSPIRE implementation and potential reuse in other data infrastructures in terms of (mainly) open source software and other reusable tools.
We have recently launched a survey to identify what organisations in the Member States are using for INSPIRE implementation involving these reusable components:
- Platforms that combine or provide clusters of tools/software noted below
- Data Portals and Geoportals
- The creation, editing and validation of metadata
- Discovery services and other metadata repositories/catalogues
- Spatial data visualisation (including online mapping and view services)
- Visualising other types of data (e.g. graphs and diagrams)
- Online data processing and analysis
- Data download and related services
- Geographical coordinate transformation, including services
- Data model transformation, including services
- Conformancy test suites and validators
- Gazetteers and other place name registers or directories etc.
- Registers and Registries (including for codelist management)
- Access control technologies: registration, authentication and authorization
- Secure data/document exchange
- e-Commerce resources for data and licensing
- Data infrastructure management
- Other examples of reusable software components not listed above
Please join this community if you would like to know more and contact us if you are interested in participating in the survey.
