Evolveum is proud to announce the latest release of midPoint 4.6, code-named Baumgarten. This 43rd midPoint release brings substantial UX improvements, and major new features, which makes it one of the breakthrough releases.
Improved Look and Feel, Enhanced Ease of Use
MidPoint 4.6 has been developed with an emphasis on ease of use and better overall user experience. That is why the whole midPoint’s look and feel was greatly improved. The Resource Wizard has been completely redesigned to allow users adding new resources in a speedy and simple way. The new UI focuses on low-code approach for end users and provides users with panels guiding them through resource configuration in simple steps.

Focusing on improved UX and self-service, the Request Access Wizard helps navigate users in requesting access in a simple and intuitive way. Not only for themselves, but also for other users. Moreover, users have an option to request the same or similar rights as their colleagues have.

The release also comes with a redesigned dashboard that is now configurable and with configurable widgets. It also provides the possibility of saved searches that allow to save the most often used or complicated filters in midPoint.

Simplified Work With New Features
MidPoint now includes new Smart Correlation mechanism that helps find matches even in noisy data across all systems thanks to fuzzy logic and weighted correlation rules. A typical use is the resource objects correlation during synchronization process, where newly discovered accounts on a particular resource are synchronized to midPoint. Another use can be the correlation during manual or automated registration of new users, including self-registration.
MidPoint 4.6 promises no more copying-and-pasting of resource configuration fragments, as an administrator can define features that are common to multiple resources, and put them in the "super-resource" definition, also called a resource template. The same is possible on a level of resource object types.
The release also comes with other improvements that include configuration of assignment panels to use the repository for searching and allow more flexible search, and archetype, role, and GUI customization changes being applied almost immediately.
MidPoint 4.6 is intended for full production use. As it is a true open source platform, you can download it without any barriers, try and test it. Moreover, there are many publicly available resources to help every midPoint user, such as the documentation, the Practical Identity Management With MidPoint book, video tutorials, and many others. MidPoint has a lively community of partners, subscribers, users, and technology enthusiasts. Thanks to their commitment, everyone can benefit from the community efforts. Some of the great examples include localization, the growing number of connectors, discussing various topics on our mailing lists, among others. All this creates a strong base for everyone when it comes to regaining control over digital identity with midPoint. See it for yourself!
