The GovTech Connect Pitch Day 2023, held on October 20th in Madrid, marked a significant milestone in the journey towards digitizing public services. This event showcased the innovative pitches from startups participating in the second GovTech Connect Bootcamp, focusing on Southern Europe. The theme was “Digitising Public Services for Enhanced Civic Engagement, Accessibility, and Transparency,” a vital aspect of modern governance.

The startups, grouped under three main challenges, presented unique solutions:

Inclusive and Accessible Services

  • Builti presented a process verification portal for civil engineering projects.
  • Cinterion offered an AI-powered video-conferencing tool with real-time engagement data.
  • City&Me connected citizens and cities through a digital platform.
  • CloudGuide empowered cultural organizations with digital guiding tools.
  • MyPolis innovated in digital tools for inclusive democracy.
  • Wisetown provided integrated applications for urban planning.

These startups answered questions from a distinguished jury, including Annick Janssens (Director Venture Lab & Venture Network, IE Business School), Giovanna Galasso (Partner at Intellera Consulting and GovTech Connect Project Director), Claudio Feijoo (UPM's Rector delegate on Entrepreneurship), and Alex Roche (Associate Director, Center for the Governance of Change, IE University). The event culminated in the recognition of outstanding participants.

The Southern Europe Boot Camp’s winner was ASIMOB, an AI-powered software for monitoring infrastructure. This victory highlighted ASIMOB’s commitment to enhancing public service digitization for civic engagement, accessibility, and transparency. Similarly, Skenario Labs emerged as the winner from the Northern Europe Boot Camps, demonstrating their exceptional contribution to the digital transformation of the public sector.
