Understanding the benefits of interoperability measures in digital public services delivery
Special focus on the use of location data & technology

The Joint Research Centre of the European Commission under the European Location Interoperability Solutions for e-Government ISA² action - ELISE action, is conducting a survey to understand the benefits that interoperability -especially location interoperability- has in delivering digital public services.
The ISA² programme and ELISE are coming to an end. It is the right time to reflect on what we have achieved together and build on that in the next generation programmes.
During the years of the programme, ISA² and ELISE have aimed to increase the interoperability for the benefits of the digital public service delivery, identified the challenges of achieving them, studied and developed solutions to exploit interoperability better to help public administrations businesses and citizens in their activities.
With this survey, we aim to understand:
- What types of benefits can be obtained from interoperability, and how are they quantified?
- What measures have been adopted to enable those benefits?
- How can the opportunities in delivering benefits be extended?
The survey is aimed at any person or administration involved in using spatial data for public services. You are kindly asked to share this survey with your national eGov and NIFO contacts.
The survey should take about 30 minutes to be completed.

The data collected will provide insights into current ELISE action activities and help define the role of location interoperability in the European digital data policies and priorities.
Please do not hesitate to forward this survey to any interested person or organisation. If you have any questions about the questionnaire, please get in touch with eu-location@ec.europa.eu.
