Two energy efficiency applications based on location data interoperability have been co-created by the Joint Research Centre's Digital Economy Unit and the Agency for the Protection of Water Resources and Energy of the Autonomous Province of Trento (APRIE).
The first application involved the harmonisation of the Energy Performance Certificate of Buildings. A report on the latter is also available here.

The second one looked at homogenising the Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plans (SECAP) data of all the 103 municipalities of the Autonomous Province of Trento that voluntarily committed to reaching the energy targets set by the related EU policies through the signature of the Covenant of Mayors.
The achieved interoperability of both the Energy Performance Certificate of Buildings (EPCEU) and the Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plans (SECAP) data supports the Agency in coordinating the energy policies cycle within its jurisdiction territory, overcoming several barriers related to the heterogeneity and consequent poor comparability of the data now harmonised.
Both datasets are available for reuse and can be retrieved in different data catalogues:

Background
The outcomes mentioned above have been executed within a Non-Monetary Collaboration Agreement for the ELISE action's Energy and Location applications activities. The agreement has been established in the frame of the ELISE action, one of the ISA2 Programme actions.
ELISE stands for "European Location Interoperability Solutions for e-Government", it supports Digital Government Transformation by making the best use of location data and technologies in an interoperable manner.
