The European Commission's Joint Research Centre (JRC) has recently finalised the research project “Exploring Digital Government Transformation in the EU: understanding public sector innovation in a data-driven society - DIGIGOV”.
The study was designed to consider governmental transformation with specific relation to artificial intelligence (AI) and related predictive and cognitive technologies, as well as supporting technologies and applications such as those providing geospatial/location data for policy design and service delivery.
The study supported the implementation of JRC research in the area of Digital Government, as part of the flagship project on Digital Transformation and Artificial Intelligence (DT&AI) and paved the way to design the new research agenda of JRC in the area of Digital Transformation of Governance and Public Sector Innovation that will be implemented as of 2021 in direct support of the Digital Europe Programme activities and the EU Digital Strategy.
In this webinar, Gianluca Misuraca, Senior Scientist on Digital Government Transformation at JRC and DIGIGOV Project Leader, will present the key results of the research and the implications for policy in light of the forthcoming adoption of the Digital Europe Programme (DEP) and the future research agenda of the Commission in the area of Digital Governance & Public Sector Innovation.
This webinar will provide you with insights on:
- What are the key factors influencing Digital Government transformation and how to assess their impact?
- Findings from experimental case studies applied in different policy domains and public administration context
- Implications for policy and research directions to shape Digital Europe at the horizon 2040
