In the context of the Online INSPIRE Conference 2020, ELISE is organising a workshop titled "Statistics and geospatial information – on a common path towards sustainability and digitalization" on the 8th of June 2020 at 09h. The workshop will present and discuss the current state of play and perspectives of statistics and geospatial intelligence both at national and European level including EU Gazetteer Evaluation Project conducted under the ELISE action.
The session will be part of the sharing the knowledge developed in the National Statistical Institutes (NSI) and National Mapping Agencies (NMA) towards stronger implementation of geographical information together with statistical applications.
Workshop presentations will be across several themes – from the national to the European perspective, from National statistical institutes up to Eurostat.
By the end the attendances should have a good overview of the current state of play of Statistics and GI, especially on the future usage of SDMX and be able to approach the respective organisations.
Additionally, a set of issues (lessons learned) will be identified and can be used as guidance for future developments in the European NSIs and NMAs.
