The Education Inservice Teacher Training Program (IEITP) is a new professional development program established in Turkey with the objective to enable teachers to use ICT tools in the production of educational materials for the classroom. Teachers who complete this inservice training program are able to produce their own ICT based learning materials and share them with other colleagues.

Main results, benefits and impacts

The inservice teacher training program was launched on March 20, 2007 at national level in Turkey. Currently there are about 30 continuing IEITP programs established all over the country and about 60 are expected to be working by the end of the year. Up to 600 teachers have already been trained with this method.
