The European Commission has launched a call for expressions of interest to select members for the informal expert group on the Next Generation European Interoperability Framework (EIF). This group will play a vital role in supporting the implementation of the Interoperable Europe Act, our key regulation aimed at enhancing the interoperability of digital public services across the European Union.
The expert group will provide independent advice to the Commission on developing the next iteration of the EIF. This includes identifying actionable measures to align the framework with new policy developments and emerging digital trends such as data spaces and artificial intelligence, as well as improving governance and fostering the adoption of interoperability solutions. The group’s insights will complement the work of the Interoperable Europe Board, which is tasked with steering the development of the EIF.
Applications are open to individuals with proven expertise in digital transformation, interoperability frameworks, policy analysis, and strategic foresight. Selected members will serve until July 2026, with the possibility of an extension.
The deadline for submissions is 7 February 2025, at 17:00 CET.
