Description
STI is an Integrated Terminology Service based on standard protocol
Common Terminology Services – Release 2 (CTS2) of HL7 to
provide support to the regions, autonomous provinces and professionals of the
health, for the integrated management of the encoding systems envisaged
within the framework of the Electronic Health File and governed by Prime Ministerial Decree No
178/2015 “Regulation on electronic health records.
An integrated terminology service (or terminological server) is a
software component integrated, possibly with other services, which
provides centralised access to the terminology content of the systems
coding used in the field of medical and health care (in the specific case) and
provides terminology services (consultation, research, mapping,
export, update check, etc.) for other applications that
they make a request. The TSI service is aimed at two main categories.
users: Health Operators, MMGs and laboratorists, on the one hand, to obtain
a support in the correct use of terminologies for encoding data
in the two documents provided for in the legislation (the Profile Sanitario Sintetico and
laboratory Referral); and regional applications/services and contact persons
on the other hand, for administrative support, in order to encourage:
alignment with the standard standardised coding systems.
The re-used version also allows terminologies to be managed.
