KlimaCube - Wolfsburg
The Climate Cube is a DIY project to monitor environmental factors such as temperature, humidity, particulate matter and noise.
Description
The Climate Cube is an open source sensor box initiated by the City of Wolfsburg, which can measure in real time various environmental parameters such as temperature, humidity, particulate matter pollution and noise. The aim of the project is to actively involve citizens in the collection of environmental data, thereby increasing awareness of climate and environmental issues. The building instructions and software are publicly available, allowing interested parties to build and operate their own sensor box. The data collected will be used for analysis to develop data-based policies for a more sustainable urban climate and to review the impact of existing initiatives. The Climate Cube is part of Wolfsburg’s Smart City Initiative.
