During the Open World Forum in Paris, which took place on 1 and 2 December, SEMIC.EU stated how it embraces Open Source strategies. The full presentation is now available online.
The interoperability workshop SEMIC.EU participated in was hosted by the Qualipso consortium.
SEMIC.EU highlighted the following lessons learnt from the Open Source community during the workshop:
Openness and transparency are responsible for further integration of stakeholders
Community driven actions lead to better results
Asset owners are advised to publish their assets under an Open Source Licence. IDABC provides for this purpose the European Public Licence (EUPL)
A repository, filled with assets applying Open Source, functions as forge for semantic interoperability
All SEMIC.EU software components themselves are available for total reuse via OSOR.EU. See the news 'Software and Tools: SEMIC.EU reuse gets underway'
