A new case study has been published explaining why the publication of e-Government metadata on the Web is an important enabler for semantic interoperability.

A new case study on the Asset Description Metadata Schema (ADMS) initiative has just been published in the Library. This initiative intends to build a consensus with all stakeholders on the publication of asset description metadata on the Web. It argues why the publication of such asset description metadata is an important enabler for semantic interoperability, not only for e-Government in Europe but also in general. It provides an introduction to Linked Open Data, the current ADMS draft specification, the first federated repository prototype made available by DERI, and the future initiatives of SEMIC.EU in this area.
