The ePSI Platform is hosting a free webinar this November to present the recent update of DCAT-AP and the existing implementations of this standard.
DCAT (Data Catalog Vocabulary) is a RDF vocabulary developed by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) to achieve interoperability among data catalogs published on the Web.
No specific prior knowledge is required to attend, just a basic understanding of the Open Data paradigm, and the structure of Open Data portals.
Webinar Content
During the webinar, various Open Data experts will explore the benefits and best practices related to DCAT, which is crucial for the Open Data movement. They will present the relevance of this standard in order to achieve a real interoperability among the different PSI reuse projects.
Background of the topic
In 2013, the ISA Programme of the European Commission started defining an application profile for (DCAT-AP), a tailor-made scheme enriching DCAT, that enables cross-data portal search for data sets, making public sector data better searchable across borders and sectors in Europe. This can be achieved by the exchange of descriptions of datasets among data portals.
DCAT is a W3C standard that is successfully implemented in various countries.
