Senior Expert Data Manager / Group Leader Surveillance Data Services, European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control

With an education in biology, environmental toxicology and computer science, Gaetan Guyodo has been working in the public health sector for 17 years.

For 10 years in the French Poison Control Centre in Paris, he has been setting-up and managing the Toxic Exposure Surveillance System supporting the toxicovigilance, by ensuring daily national data collection, analysis and signal detection.

When starting at ECDC in 2010, his role has been to organise, support and improve the data management activities related to public health surveillance.

Passionate about data and information, he is supporting the use of modern techniques and tools such as Business Intelligence, advanced data analysis and data visualisations tools, to provide to the Content Matter Experts the best technical support to reach their goals and achieve their missions.

In 2016, Gaetan has also been driving the launch of an information governance framework at ECDC, to improve accessibility and knowledge about data and information available, to ensure the best use and the effective and efficient management of data and information throughout their lifecycle. The implementation of this information governance has started in 2017, and should be of high value for ECDC.
