The ESPD-based CCEV data model needs to be flexibilised to allow for simpler implementations

Published on: 14/03/2016 Discussion

The current data model does not allow for a direct response to a question contained in the criterion. To solve this in the current data model the ESPD xml instances have to use the first response to the first requirement in the first requirementGroup. Additionally, in some Use Cases we'll only have a question and a response, without any specific requirements. I propose to disccuss together this other approach:

I wonder if, for simple criteria, it would be possible to attach a Requirement directly to the Criterion, rather than always have a Requirement Group.

So in addition to

Criterion is fulfilled by Requirement Group has Requirement

also have

   Criterion is fulfilled by Requirement

The third scenarion in section 6.1 could be:

Criterion: To get admitted to the movie you have to pay a fee and be more than eighteen or to be an accredited member of the press.

1   Requirement group: First option

     a. Criterion requirement: To have bought a ticket for the fee.
            Candidate evidence: The ticket

AND
     b. Criterion requirement: To be over eighteen
            Candidate evidence: ID card
            Candidate evidence: Passport

OR
2   Requirement: Second option
Criterion requirement: To be accredited as a member of the press
            Candidate evidence: Press accreditation

The data model has been improved since the initial version from where this comment was derived. Please confirm that the new data model suits your requirements.
