On 9 April 2025, the European Commission launched the AI Continent Action Plan, a strategic initiative aimed at transforming European traditional industries into engines of innovation and competitiveness. The Plan is part of the EU’s broader approach to artificial intelligence and reinforces previous initiatives in the field.

This ambitious strategy consists in a set of actions targeted to address the most pressing challenges related to AI, which is still in its early stages of adoption across European economy. 

The main objectives of the Plan are: 

• Strengthen the competitiveness of the European economy.
• Promote democratic values by preserving fundamental rights and our society’s principles.
• Protect Europe’s cultural and linguistic diversity.
