The Interoperable Europe Portal is a collaborative platform created by the European Commission to facilitate the sharing and reuse of IT solutions among public administrations across Europe.
One of the key features of the platform is the announcement feature, which is available to facilitators and owners, and allows them to send a message to their members (i.e., about upcoming events, new releases of software or tools, or project related to open-source software, digital solutions, etc.). It is an important means of communication that helps raise awareness.
This How-To document will walk you through the process of creating and sending an announcement to your Collection/Solution members
Steps to create and send an announcement
1.Sign In: Log in to your Interoperable Europe Portal account.
2. Identify the Collection/Solution: Go to the landing page of the Solution or Collection from which you wish to send the announcement (and that you are a facilitator or owner of).
3. Use the Announcement Feature: Once on the Collection or Solution page, look for the "Announcement" section by clicking the "three dots" icon on the left of the overview page.

4. Compose Your Message: First you must click on the "Add announcement" button and then write a concise message and ensure it provides valuable information to the members.
5. Create a Draft Announcement: Write the message you wish to share with the members of the Collection or Solution.

6. Edit the announcement and select the announcement state: Once you created the announcement as a draft, you can:
- "Professional domain filter": You may tailor your communication to a specific segment of your community by clicking on the displayed subdomains. These are linked to the professional domains that users link their profile to. Targeted announcements will prove useful when you wish to communicate different messages to the separate audience types within your Collection/Solution.
- "Update": If you modify the content of the announcement, you can save your changes by clicking on this button.
- "Preview": As a test, you can send to your own account a draft email to visualise how the announcement would look like.
- "Send for approval": You can click on this button when the announcement is ready to be sent. Remember that only Collection/Solution owners can approve announcements.
