Bee swarms, barcodes and bubbles – visual data stories on regional development

Join the webinar "Eurostat regional yearbook goes digital!"

Published on: 19/05/2022 News Archived

Eurostat has been publishing its annual flagship publication, Eurostat regional yearbook, for over 20 years. However, in times of digitalisation, changing publication modes and user needs, it became necessary to rethink the format of the publication including the opportunities and challenges this presented.

On Thursday, 9 June, data.europa academy is organising a webinar with Eurostat. During the session, speakers will present the journey from a printed/PDF publication with a long-standing tradition to a digital publication and modern interactive tool. We will walk through the different phases with its up’s and down’s, do’s and don’ts, and lessons learned. It involved being open minded and taking the time to interact with various project partners involved to start from scratch and think in a new, modern and innovative manner.
