On April 19, 2024, the Joinup Team hosted the first User Group Meeting of the year. Hosted virtually, the meeting aimed to showcase Joinup's latest developments, delve into its content, explore future directions, and foster interaction among participants.

Throughout the session, the Joinup Team unveiled several noteworthy updates, including the introduction of the new Solutions hub, a unified Overview page, and enhanced navigation, facilitated by the new Bookmark feature. Furthermore, they highlighted improvements relevant to content creators, such as the ability to archive solutions and the new gallery of images features under the layout editor. Additionally, four distinguished guest speakers were invited to the event, to share insights to their Joinup-based projects.

Costas Simatos, Solution Architect and Interoperability Test Bed Team Leader introduced the Interoperability Test Bed—an intuitive online platform for IT system conformance testing against semantic and technical specifications.

Patrice-Emmanuel Schmitz, Joinup Legal Expert, presented the European Public Licence (EUPL), an open-source license spanning all EU official languages, aimed at guiding IT developers, practitioners, and users in sharing and reusing solutions within legal frameworks.

Maria Claudia Bodino, Team Leader of Digital Innovation Policy at DIGIT.DDG.B.1.001, introduced the Big Data Test Infrastructure (BDTI), a freely accessible analytics cloud stack provided by the European Commission to European public administrations. The BDTI facilitates experimentation with open-source technologies and promotes the reuse of public sector data to foster a data-informed public sector.

Alice Vasilescu, LEOS Community Manager and external consultant to the European Commission, presented LEOS - Open Source software for editing legislation—an open-source software designed to streamline the legislative drafting process by facilitating online collaboration and adherence to regulatory guidelines.

Bernard Claes, European Commission's DIGIT B2 Business Manager of Joinup, concluded the presentation with a glimpse into upcoming features in content creation and Joinup's support for the Interoperable Europe Act.

The meeting also featured an interactive session where participants provided their feedback on the new features that were presented and suggested topics for future User Group Meetings.
