We are excited to present some new features introduced on Joinup! The platform is growing and evolving, and the goal is to keep our users engaged by allowing them to find and share up to date content. With these three new additions to the platform, we aim to do just that.
Use Topics to browse content via thematic areas
The “Main topics” section was added to Joinup’s Home Page to organise Joinup’s wide range of content into eight major categories: Semantics, Open Source Software, Observatories, Digital-ready policymaking, Tools, Reusable Software Components, Smart cities, and Innovation. Under each category you can find content relating to the selected thematic area, such as solutions, communities, news, events etc. This provides an additional way of discovering new and relevant content and offers an alternative method of navigating around Joinup. Each topic showcases content curated by both the Joinup Team and the relating Joinup communities.
Show your appreciation by “liking” content
We have introduced a “Like” button on Joinup to allow you to show your appreciation to content creators and help other users easily find good content. By using this feature, you also help content creators better understand what type of information is more useful to users, keeping them motivated to publish more interesting and relevant content.

Hide outdated content with the Archive feature
To help users view relevant and up-to-date information on Joinup, we have launched the Archive feature. It hides outdated content allowing Joinup Communities to promote their newer and more relevant information. Archived content is still accessible to – and searchable by – users with just a few extra clicks.
