The IMAPS team invites you to assess the behavioral interoperability maturity of the digital public services with IMAPS and its specialisations. Digital public service owners can get detailed insights on the legal (LIMAPS), organisational (OIMAPS), technical (TIMAPS) and semantic (SIMAPS) interoperability maturity of the digital public services.

The IMAPS team has also publlished the relevant High Level Solution Architecture Templates (HL SATs), which define minimal interoperability architectures, provide guidance and support a common understanding of the most critical building blocks for interoperability.

 

What is IMAPS and its specialised versions?

IMAPS is a self-assessment tool which can be used by owners of digital public services to evaluate key behavioral interoperability aspects and to ensure seamless delivery of digital public services in a national and cross-border context. In combination with the IMAPS, specialised versions are available to further assess specific legal (LIMAPS), organisational (OIMAPS), semantic (SIMAPS) and technical (TIMAPS) behavioral interoperability aspects.

IMAPS covers the main aspects of a digital public service lifecycle, namely the service delivery, the service consumption and the service management, while the IMAPS Specialisations are split in two service areas, namely the service delivery and the service consumption. These, in turn, are being assessed in terms of data, information and knowledge specifications, capabilities and manifestations, meaning specific details that enable and support peer-to-peer service collaboration.

What is in for you?

What is the advantage of the IMAPS solution? It allows public service owners to check the alignment of the digital public service with the new European Interoperability Framework (EIF), while it can be used for any type of digital public service at all levels of government!

Each of the assessments provides:

• A user-friendly online questionnaire for completing the assessment* (available via EUSurvey);
• An interoperability maturity score indicating the current maturity level of your digital public service;
• A set of recommendations for improving your digital public service, based on interoperability standards and good practices (sent automatically via e-mail upon completion of the assessment);
• A report of your IMAPS assessment to support your investment decisions for service improvement (sent automatically via e-mail upon completion of the assessment);
• A statement of conformance with the European Interoperability Framework (EIF) principles.

What is new in the updated versions of IMAPS and its specialisations?

The new releases of the IMAPS complete suite have focused on increasing the user experience (e.g. simplified language, terminology, look and feel as well as user guidance in the surveys, enclosing the entire IMAPS user journey) and has been aligned with the terminology and structure of similar interoperability solutions (e.g. SIQAT, GIQAT EIRA, CAMSS).

The illustration of the IMAPS user journey is presenting the overall assessment process that starts from IMAPS and leads to its specialisations. The specialised versions of IMAPS are made available to digital public service owners to further assess the legal, organisational, semantic and technical behavioral interoperability maturity aspects of the digital public services.
