The cause of the error is that when creating a language not well known to Plone, the title and english name of the language are not recorded in the new Language instance. A new bug is opened and this is closed. Therefore, the name of the language defaults to the language code. Without a recorde title, there is not indeed anything to display.
It is a bug: even after manually entering names for the not-well-known language though the language advanced view editor, thej reference languag selector still does not display its name.
