CatMDEdit is a metadata edition tool that facilitates the documentation of resources, with special focus on the description of geographic information resources.  The main new feature that this new version includes is the revision of metadata profiles for dataset and services in compliance with the latest versions of the implementation guidelines of the INSPIRE Directive (http://inspire.ec.europa.eu/documents/Metadata/MD_IR_and_ISO_20131029.pdf) and the Spanish Profile for Metadata (NEM) (http://www.idee.es/resources/documentos/NEMv1.2.pdf and http://www.idee.es/resources/documentos/NEM-S_v1.0.pdf). In addition to this, the mechanisms to guarantee the compliance with the metadata requirements established in the previous guidelines have been improved, thanks to the online connection with the new metadata validation service from Spanish SDI (IDEE) (http://www.idee.es/validator/).
