The European Commission’s Directorate-General for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs (DG GROW) hosted a workshop in collaboration with Technopolis Group on SMEs internationalisation strategies. Held on February 7th, the event gathered 120 participants, both in person and online, including EU officials, representatives from national ministries and industries stakeholders.
During the Workshop, Technopolis Group presented the key findings on its “Study of the European Union SMEs internationalisation strategy”, which mapped the EU and MSs policy instruments supporting SMEs internationalisation. The study evaluates the effectiveness of the existing resources, identifying gaps and offering recommendations to improve their efficiency.
A panel of experts from Business France, Flanders Investment & Trade, Trade Promotion Europe, the European Innovation Council and SME United shared valuable insights and recommendations. The Workshop also highlighted best practices, including those led by InnoHub Lithuania and the EU’s Intellectual Property Helpdesks. The European Commission aims to implement the study’s recommendations to strengthen SMEs internationalisation efforts and boost their competitiveness.
