In 2024, we celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master (EMJM) programme, an initiative by the European Union to collaborate with various universities in Europe, combining diverse educational approaches, fostering a shared learning experience that transcends geographical boundaries. The success in facilitating cross-border education and cultural exchange has been pivotal in crafting an international community of informed, culturally aware scholars.

The programme's core values of transparency, accessibility, and collaboration mirror those of open data initiatives. By promoting the free availability of information, open data has the potential to significantly broaden educational horizons worldwide.
