On July 5 2023, the European Union Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA) released its first cyber threat landscape for the health sector (ENSIA Threat Landscape: Health Sector).  

The performed analysis identified prime threats, actors, impacts and trends, based on maps and cyberattacks studies, that were performed during a 2-year period. Based on the report, ransomware is responsible for 54% of cybersecurity threats in the health sector. The report also provides more valuable insights for the healthcare community and policy makers. In total, 215 publicly reported incidents, were used as benchmarks for the analysis, retrieved through relevant incidents in EU and neighbouring countries.
