Electronic prescription of drugs is a very important step in hospital quality, mainly because it diminishes transcription errors by Pharmacists, due to Physicians handwriting. This practice is optimized when an electronic integrated drug management exists. A semi-automatic distribution of drugs by individual patients completes this circuit and contributes for a good Hospital Practice. In the University Hospital Pulido Valente, in Lisbon, this practice was implemented first time, last year, with promising results.
