Italy will define a three-year ICT strategy for public administrations, Antonio Samaritans, General Director of the country’s Agency for the Digitalisation of the Public Sector (Agenzia per l'Italia Digitale, AGID), announced this week. This includes the development of information systems that can be used by all public administrations, the agency announced in a statement.
According to the statement, this will be the first overall ICT plan for Italy’s public administrations.
“Last year we identified the top priorities for eGovernment, now it’s time for the next step”, AGID quotes its director as saying. On Wednesday, Samaritans was one of the speakers at Forum PA 2016, an annual public administration conference, taking place in in Rome.
AGID added it that aims to create an exemplary model for government modernisation. The strategy will be drafted together with central and local public administrations. The agency also wants to involve businesses in creating new opportunities.
The top priorities for eGovernment are:
- SPID, Italy’s eID system;
- PagoPA, the electronic payment solution;
- ANPR, the national citizens registration system;
- eInvoicing;
- open data;
- increasing digital skills; and
- building an eHealth records system.
