Third website to follow Italian website guidelines
Italy’s Ministry for Public Administration and Simplification has relaunched its website, making it the third government website to follow the country’s web site accessibility guidelines, according to the Agenzia per l'Italia Digitale (AGID) - the country’s Agency for the Digitalisation of the Public Sector.
The new website was launched on 22 February.
AGID assisted the ministry in the redesign, and helped to ensure that the site follows the design guidelines, intended for all public administration web sites. The content is responsive, which means that it automatically rearranges and adapts to the available screen size on computing devices. The relaunched website is “a reference for all public administrations”, the ministry writes in an announcement.
The website design guidelines should improve users’ access to information, the agency explains.
AGID has also been involved in the overhaul of the portals of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. Several more ministries will soon have new websites, AGID writes, including the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy, the Ministry of Education, Universities and Research and the Ministry of Heritage and Culture and Tourism.
