Digital-ready policymaking (DRPM) is the process of formulating digital-ready policies and legislation by taking digital aspects into account from the start of the policy cycle. DRPM aims to ensure that legal texts are ready for the digital age, future-proof and interoperable.
By adopting a digital-ready mindset, policies are designed more carefully to avoid any legal, organisational or semantic barriers. As a result, policies are not only technologically sound but also legally feasible across different jurisdictions. In this way, the DRPM supports seamless, interoperable digital public services across borders in line with the Interoperable Europe Act.
Thanks to the DRPM, digital public services can be faster, simpler, and cost-effective.
