Like many other areas of life, humanitarian practice and thinking are being transformed by information and communications technology. In an upcoming webinar taking place on March 24th, both online and in-person in Brussels, Prof. Fleur Johns will present her groundbreaking book ‘#Help: Digital Humanitarianism and the Remaking of International Order’. Drawing on seven years of data collection and interdisciplinary research, the book illuminates the growing prominence of digital interfaces in digital humanitarianism and the ramifications for international law and politics.
While different from our usual selection of events, this important discussion encourages reflection on the ethical consequences of our efforts. #Help will transform your thinking about what is at stake in the use of digital interfaces in the humanitarian field and about how, where, and for whom we are making the global order of tomorrow.
For the time being, you can learn more about the webinar and about Prof. Johns’ book here!
