ADMS 25 april

We were delighted to invite you to our webinar dedicated to the review of the Asset Description Metadata Schema (ADMS) and the Asset Description Metadata Schema - Application Profile (ADMS-AP) which took place on the 25th April 2023, from 13:00 to 15:00 (CET).

The Asset Description Metadata Schema (ADMS) specification was originally drafted to describe semantic interoperability solutions (previously referred to as semantic assets). The application profile of ADMS aims to extend the use of ADMS for the description of other types of interoperability solutions, meaning solutions covering the political, legal, organisational and technical interoperability layers defined by the European Interoperability Framework.

The Asset Description Metadata Schema (ADMS) specification was initiated in 2012 under the ISA programme. In 2014, it was published as a W3C Working group note and in the subsequent years an application profile (ADMS-AP) was created as part of the SEMIC activities under the ISA programme. The past years, the activities around this specification, codelists and application profile have been reduced to a minimum.

With the intent to reinitiate proper governance and to harmonise the ADMS ecosystem with the current activities happening in the related DCAT (W3C) and DCAT-AP (SEMIC) working groups, SEMIC invited the community to this webinar.

Agenda

A more detailed overview of what was discussed during the webinar can be found below:

  • State of play

  • Proposal to decouple ADMS from DCAT, and increase its reusability

  • Proposal to transfer of ADMS codelists to the Publications Office

  • Interaction with the ADMS-AP community

With the last point of the agenda, we aimed to familiarise ourselves with the ADMS-AP user community, as an initial measure towards establishing a new direction for the ADMS-AP application profile.

Duration
