The Occitanie region (France) recently adopted the GoFast collaborative Document Management System (DMS) platform, an alternative to Sharepoint and Office 365. The GoFast platform is the product of the French company CEO-Vision which is specialised in open source-based solutions.

Open source DMS used by the Occitanie region

After the merger of the former Languedoc-Roussillon and Midi-Pyrénées regions, the new Occitanie Region has redesigned its information system, including document management tools. As part of its modernisation program, the Occitanie region has chosen the GoFast platform to centralise, secure and manage all working documents in a transversal way. The choice of this open source solution allows the Occitanie region to achieve a more secure management of access rights to content, foster collaborative working, increase knowledge sharing among departments, and control the content exchange through the notification centre.

The GoFast platform includes, among others, the following open source software:

  • The Alfresco Document Management System;
  • The Collaborative OnlyOffice Suite;
  • The BonitaSoft business process management and workflow application platform;
  • A messaging service;
  • Videoconference tools.

The GoFast platform, which is an alternative to proprietary software such as SharePoint and Office365, was developed by the French company CEO-Vision, a French company specialised in open source-based solutions. The company’s GoFast product is available on GitHub.

Since the Occitanie region has switched to the GoFast platform, other French public administration bodies such as the Eure et Loir county and the Auvergne-Rhônes-Alpes region have adopted it as well.
