CAMSS Solutions encompass a variety of tools, frameworks, guidelines, and libraries designed to promote and support interoperability among digital government services. These solutions aim to assist public administrations, service providers, and other stakeholders in adopting standards and specifications that enable seamless and interoperable public service delivery. The solutions offered under CAMSS include assessment frameworks such as the EIF Scenario, best practices, and libraries of recommended standards and specifications.
CAMSS Assessment EIF Scenario
The CAMSS Assessment EIF Scenario allows for the assessment of the compliance of interoperability specifications with the EIF. The objective of the obtained assessment is to determine the suitability of the assessed interoperability specification for the delivery of interoperable European public services.
The latest release of the CAMSS Assessment EIF Scenario is the 6.0.0
CAMSS Assessment MSP Scenario
The CAMSS Assessment MSP Scenario contains different sections according to the insights and recommendations of the Multi-Stakeholder Platform (MSP).
The latest release of the CAMSS MSP scenario is the v5.0.0
CAMSS as a Service (CAMSSaaS)
CAMSS-as-a-Service offers on-demand assessments of standards and specifications using CAMSS Tools, conducted by the CAMSS Team. It streamlines the evaluation process for adopting standards in public administrations. It is an EC solution.
The latest release of the CAMSSasS is the v1.4.0.
Core Assessment Vocabulary (CAV)
European Library of Architecture Principles (ELAP)
ELAP is a library of interoperability architecture principles, including EIF principles. It counts 42 principles such as EU Legislation, Accessibility, Once Only and more. It is an EC solution.
The latest release of the ELAP is the v2.0.0
ELAP Validator
The ELAP Validator is designed to align with, and further the goals of, interoperability programs, ensuring that systems and solutions are not only compliant with European Frameworks but also efficient and effective.
The latest release of the ELAP Validator is the v1.0.0
EIRA Library of Interoperability Specifications (ELIS)
ELIS is a list of standards and specifications for interoperability. Each of them is linked to an EIRA architectural building blocks. It is an EC solution for IT architects.
The latest release of the ELIS is the v6.1.0
CAMSS Incompatibility Scenario
The CAMSS Incompatibility Scenario is designed to check whether the integration of a Specification/Standard hinders interoperability in an environment of Solution Building Blocks.
The latest release of the CAMSS Incompatibility Scenario is the BETA version
CAMSS solutions ecosystem at a glance
The diagram above illustrates the relationships between CAMSS solutions. There are two assessment scenarios: one based on the multi-stakeholder platform and the European Interoperability framework. Each scenario produces an assessment, which is published as a solution and listed in the CAMSS Assessment Library, marked in green. Furthermore, those interested in assessing a specific specification can request an on-demand assessment through the CAMSS as a Service (CAMSSaaS) solution. Each assessment will be added to the EIRA Library of Interoperability Specifications (ELIS), which is a catalogue of technical standards and specifications categorized according to the EIRA Architecture Building Blocks (ABBs). CAMSS Vocabularies are designed to define standards, specifications, assessments for the assessment library, and scenarios. The latest addition to the CAMSS Solution is the ELAP Validator, a tool that assists in checking the alignment of solutions architecture principles with the requirements set in ELAP.
CAMSS Assets
Apart from the above mentioned solutions, the CAMSS method is composed by a complimentary set of assets:
Asset | Definition |
CAMSS Assessment Library | Catalogue of the assessments produced through the use of the CAMSS Tools. Each assessment constitutes a CAMSS solution and is fully reusable. |
CAMSS List of Standards |
CAMSS maintains a list with all the standards and technical specifications recommended by the Member States of the EU. It can be consulted at: https://joinup.ec.europa.eu/collection/common-assessment-method-standar… |
CAMSS Change Management Process | The objective of the Change Management Process is to formalise how requests for changes and the development of new releases of CAMSS are to be managed |
CAMSS RDF Conversor | RDF conversor to transform the CAMSS Assessments into RDF format. |
CAMSS Specifications Graph | The data set of assertions on individuals belonging to the Core Standards and Specifications Vocabulary (CSSV). Simplifying, the description of standards and specifications using the CSSV. |
CAMSS Assessment Graph | The data set containing the assertions of all assessments produced with the CAMSS method. |
Use cases
The result of the Use Cases selection process is a neutral and unbiased method for the assessment of technical specifications and standards in the field of ICT. It is a challenging task requiring a significant amount of time and resources. The selection of the Technical Specifications is decisive for the delivery of Interoperable European Solutions which implement Digital Public Services. An offline PDF documento of the use cases can be downloaded here.
Consequently, to support EU Member States on this, the European Commission has been developing and improving CAMSS since 2008.
