As part of ISA Action 1.17, A Reusable INSPIRE Reference Platform

Analysing standards and technologies for AAA
(ARE3NA) a project was launched by the EC Joint Research Centre (JRC) on Authentication, Authorization & Accounting for Data and Services in EU Public Administrations, with a focus on the access control needs of the INSPIRE Directive.

This document, D1.1.2 & D1.2.2– Analysing standards and technologies for AAA,
covers an analysis of common standards and technologies that have been used in accessing spatial data and services. This output has also been reviewed by experts from ISA and the INSPIRE Maintenance and Implementation Group in terms of developing Guidelines and Best Practices for Access Control.

The evidence from this work has been important for selecting standards and tools that were used in the AAA testbed's developments.

The JRC wish to thank the authors and reviewers for their work in supporting ARE3NA.
