File: about-the-missing-tar-gz-files.txt Date: 2013-07-12 Author: Peter Fokker Subject: About the missing .tar.gz files in our releases Project: Website@School Website: http://websiteatschool.eu After uploading Website@School release 0.90.5 we discovered that, in some cases, the compressed tar-balls we uploaded were automagically compressed again at the webserver-side, but were not uncompressed at the webbrowser/client-side. It is not very clear (to us) where this issue originates, maybe the webserver, maybe the browser that is used, maybe the content management system (Drupal) that is used, maybe specific combinations of server, CMS and browser. Since we neither have the ability nor the resources to fix this issue for once and for all, we decided to remove the gzipped tar-balls from this download site. Fortunately you can download our software using the .ZIP-files. Here are a few links that discuss the issue of double gzipping. https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=610679 https://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=47951 https://drupal.org/node/1440534 [eof]
